June 10th, 2017 Travel Day on our way to Glacier National Park

June 10th, 2017 Travel Day on our way to Glacier National Park
We headed south along the western slope of the Banff National Park along provincial route 93 then 95 to Kimberley where we had a mid day lunch.  Kimberly is a very quaint travel friendly town with most of its shops on a walking mall and an adjacent parking lot that is free (Worcester take note). After lunch we continued south and crossed the border into Idaho and then east towards Glacier National Park.  We camped for the night at a road side rv park on Route 2 along the Kootenai River.

Out campsite at Lake Louise with the mountains in the background.
Walking mall in Kimberly.
Inside Chef Bernards for lunch. Elaine had some delicious bratwurst, I had a veggie soup and salad.
Here is Elaine posing with Chef Bernard!
The two of us posing in front of Chef Bernard. Chef Bernard took the picture!
This is the nice parking lot near to the walking mall.
This is the Kootenai River adjacent to our roadside rv park.
Traveling out of a gorge we passed through this cut in the mountains. You have to look really hard to see the passage for the road..
The ski slopes at Kimberly.
The border crossing at Eastport Idaho.  Very friendly crossing. The patrolman asked us to prove we were from Massachusetts by having us name  the famous lake near Oxford. Elaine immediately rose to the challenge by tell him Lake Chaubunagungamaug.  He was verysurprised when she nailed it.
Saw this interesting antique mall on Route 2.
