June 6th, Butchart Gardens, Victoria, BC

June 6th, Butchart Gardens, Victoria, BC
Well it has been a while since we published a blog. Connectivity has been spotty since taking the ferry from Vancouver Island.  Can't wait for Space-X to have a space based cell and wifi coverage!
While on Vancouver Island near Victoria we visited the renowned Butchart Gardens.  It is the kind of place that makes you want to go home and start gardening.
Here is a giant chess set that I wish my grandson Luke was here to play chess with me.
Elaine posing at the entrance to the gardens.
This is a garden that was constructed in an old quarry. Go figure!
An nice water fountain in the quarry gardens.
A nice mix of hedges and flowers.
 A totem pole.

 Dragon fountain.
 Artsy flower shot.
Did I mention that these redwoods grow tall! this one was only planted in 1934!
 Elaine in the Japanese gardens.
Hedges in the Italian Gardens.  These made me think of my brother-in-law Ray who loves to trim hedges!
 Elaine rubbing the boar's nose.
View from our campground near Victoria: Oceanside RV Park. Very nice we stayed here two nights.
 Our campsite at Oceanside.
We set out for an evening walking with a preppy look.
If you zoom on this picture you will see a seal climbing over a log after exiting from the ocean.  This beach was near our campsite.
