May 31st, Wednesday, Eugene too Columbia River Gorge

May 31st, Wednesday,  Eugene too Columbia River Gorge
Headed west from Richardson Lake west of Eugene for the coast and north.  A little way up the coast above Florence, OR we stopped to look at Sea Lions. Continued up the coast and then headed inland and up the I5 for Portland and the Columbia River Gorge.  We ended the day at Ainsworth State Park along the Columbia River just west of the town of Hood River.  Oregon has a nice feel to it.  The gas is cheaper than CA and WA and the folks are easy.

Traveling west from Eugene we followed a river and the banks of the river were impressive.

The entry statue at the Sea Lion viewing facility.
 Looking south towards Florence.

Looking down on the sea lions.
An impressive concrete bridge along the coast highway.
 Low tide along the coast.
 Wavy coastal highway.
Another impressive concrete bridge.
We stopped for lunch at Newport, ORand had lunch at the Ocean Blue Cafe.
They had some great murals on the buildings along the street bordering the wharfs.
View looking back at the Ocean Blue Cafe.
